why OSX (probably) sux

Usually I don’t declare an opinion about something I didn’t try… (There are enough lin(s)ux users out there who do that.) …but this time I’ll make an exception with Apple’s (communist) software (in general), the os.x.

If Apple’s operating systems, (put aside all the chrome and visual bling-bling) is like iTunes than I won’t even need to bother trying it. Why didn’t I try it yet?! I don’t have any ritch friends who have so much money to waste on a trend. I know it’s widespread and pretty and all that… Hollywood, and let’s not forget about (how could we) all the movies with Apple laptops popping up all over the screen. I’m kind-of sick & tired of that to. Like WTF?! Let’s take the the “MacBook Air“. I’d rename it. The Mc’iFART. You can’t even plug in a USB device normally. Very neat thinking and engineering Mr. Jobs.

Another very neat engineering accomplishment I keep hearing about is the overheating issue lö grand mac user community cries about. You trend bitches! Buy a LENOVO THINKPAD! Altho’ even thinkpads, since they ‘broke up‘ with IBM started to sell products that are not what they used to be. The build quality saz’ ‘more profit‘ less quality. Even so, you’ll get something for your money. I’m not saying Apple’s hardware isn’t designed well. Hell, the ‘package‘ / ‘shell‘, jobs designers put the hardware in looks great, but who want’s a hummV 2 when you can get a first-gen-original-one-of-a-kind hummV that is much more capable than the trendy-chrome-bling-bling-gay-ass ‘suv‘. Honestly, maybe it’s just me but I like the elegant black, maybe a little geeky looks of a thinkpad more that that of a trendy/fancy/look-i-got-a-mac-and-you-know-how-much-these-cost macbook.

So as I was sayin’ iTunes… OS.X tiger, leopard, elephant whatever they call it. The sync. I don’t want to sync. I hate sync in Lightroom to. I want to copy, move, delete, maybe backup but I don’t want to sync anything. I don’t want you to force me to sync! I don’t like the concept of opening up a (btw shitty) software just to be able to upload music to a device or photos to an external hard drive. The iPod for instance. What kind of money-hungry-communist-control-Freak came up with that idea?

I can imagine apple employees sitting around and thinking… Hmmm let’s create a music player. Done. Hmmm what now… Hey, how about we don’t let people just seamlessly copy content like mp3′s or avi or any other media on it… Let’s allow them to do that only with a fucked up software of ours that converts the files and then syncs them up in the device. Well sync my ass. I just want to copy my music (video, picture) files and play them. I don’t want your i-software to fuck up my files and convert and code them in unimaginable ways. I want copy > play. Damn… but no…

The only thing I’d buy from Apple is an iPod touch or iPhone 3G but of-course I’d install android on it instantly. Most beautyfull touchscreen device out there on the market today (Nokia, I’m officially dissapointed).

Non-removable-batteries… I think I couldn’t get used to the one button mouse either… wtf is that?!?! I want to right click!! I want to use all the capabilities of a Logitech G5 mouse. No! Mac users are (they like to think they are) ‘cooler‘, mac users are ‘diffrent‘ (~limited). I have a friend that once encountered an emo kid (they also think they’re cool). He asked him “are you sad?”. I laughed my ass off.

Example. I want to be able to create or customize my desktop. Think of visual styles in XP Pro. I don’t want my options to be narrowed down Mr. Jobs in any way especially if I pay for the product. I don’t want you to control me. If I pay for something I want it to be mine… I don’t want you messing with it remotely or in any other way…

…so yeah, the visual effects are nice, but I want freedom in my OS. I don’t want to keep in touch and sync with you. I don’t want a ‘special‘ file system. I could go on… Even when it comes to monitors… studios working with photos, print… glamorous 30” shiny trendy apple displays, you’d get off cheaper with some dell monitors that have the SAME panel + the gamma… 2.2(pc) – 1.8(mac) ‘we are diffrent‘.

The only thing windows desktops were missing from os.cockroach was the docked icons, but now we have those to it’s called rocketdock.

Since lin(s)ux users in their arsenal of weapons and mass-hatred-of-all-things-non-linux-especially-windows use their desktop visual effects – and people who migrate to macs do mostly because (they’re unable to use a normal operating system ~ dumb = the people at whom’ windows installations only last 1-2 weeks after witch they fuck it up to such a degree the OS crashes, so what’s next > reinstall > bashing the os > maybe moving to lin(s)ux ) they have to much money to spend, or they only feel good if they follow the trend, maybe it makes them feel like they belong or (the smallest percentage), they like the aesthetics of the hardware and they don’t need anything else but what their (limited) macs allow them – I’ll be posting (next time) some ‘pretty‘ Microsoft xp pro desktops just to show you what you can do…
